This is usually due to product residue and natural oils accumulating on the scalp – wavy hair gets greasy faster there because it is smoother than curly hair. As a result, the roots lose volume.
👉 Solution: A gentle cleansing shampoo and occasional "double cleansing" work wonders here. And very important: do not use too much conditioner or styling products at the roots – that immediately weighs it down. -
Volume is created at the roots, definition in the lengths – both require different techniques.
Work your Volume Foam directly into the roots (preferably upside down) and dry with the Diffuser on low heat. Blow dry upside down or use hair clips to lift your hair from the roots while air drying. -
This is the balancing act for wavy hair! It needs moisture, otherwise it gets frizzy – but too much product kills the volume. Tip: Look for lightweight formulas and only apply richer products (e.g., curl cream) to the lengths. If your waves feel "greasy," it was simply too much of a good thing.

You're probably styling on hair that's too dry. Waves love soaking wet conditions – that's when hair best absorbs product. So, work your curl cream and volume foam in right after showering, scrunch the waves, and avoid touching them afterwards. That will destroy the definition before it can set.

Detangle your hair only in the shower, while conditioner is setting in. Afterwards, gently squeeze it (don't rub!) and dry it with a microfiber towel or t-shirt. This way, the structure remains beautifully defined. -
No problem – this happens to most wavy hair types! Spray your waves with a little water or a Curl Defining Spray, gently scrunch them, and let them air dry or blow-dry them briefly. This "reactivates" the products from the previous day and immediately gives you more freshness and volume.

Ideally, sleep on a satin or silk pillowcase – that reduces friction. In the morning, simply refresh with a little CURL DEFINING SPRAY, scrunch – and the waves are back!
